Linda Salisbury began her art career as a watercolorist in 1977. She studied with Robert Johnson and his influence was the reason she pursed the medium. She has studied with any other artists in their studios as well as at the Middlesex Community College, and at Creative Ventures.
She has been a member of Nashua Area Artists Association, Leominster Art Association, and the Gardner Area Association exhibiting in their shows and receiving awards.
Her favorite mediums are watercolor and oils, however she has also worked in graphite, pen and ink, color pencil, and acrylic.
She has 40 years of teaching experience. She taught children at her home studio and at Groton Christian School in West Townsend, MA. She has taught watercolor painting at the Townsend Senior Center for 18 years and at the Lunenburg and Pepperell senior centers for a short period. Currently her classes are at her home in Greenville, NH.
Currently, her work is on display at the Petersham Art Gallery and Creative Ventures Gallery.

Art Statement
My inspiration is nature in its simplicity. Exposure to nature makes you feel better emotionally as well as physically. I try to replicate this feeling in my artwork using watercolor realism to capture the joy and peacefulness of my surroundings. From the native birds to the expanse of the ocean, I want the viewers to feel the therapeutic power of nature. As Anne Frank once said “I firmly believe that nature brings solace to all troubles.”
Over the past 40 years, my biggest fulfillment has been in the teaching of others. I firmly believe in the importance of creativity. Seeing the enthusiasm in my students and seeing the power of healing through art has been truly rewarding.
